Growing up as a Bay Area native, my influences are as diverse as my style. I find passion in creating in a variety of capacities, whether through through traditional paint, woven textiles, or digital media.

Viscera
An exercise in tension, muscle memory.
2024-Present
This series of work emerged after a period of burnout, particularly from the overstimulation of social media, the 24 hour news cycle, and the ever-growing presence of tech and AI in every sector of human society. In response, I consciously rejected digital tools and returned to working fully by hand, using my body and intuition as the primary instruments. The process became about feeling the materiality of paint, letting each gesture be guided by sensation and muscle memory rather than algorithm. Ironically, through this analog approach, the resulting pieces began to echo the forms and patterns of human biology and the natural world, almost as if stripping away the digital led me back to something deeply organic and alive.

Filipino California: Art of the Filipino Diaspora. 2024
Leaning into spirituality and the greater questions about life’s mysteries, through the lens and visual language of my Filipino Catholic upbringing. For some of these works I employed AI to help make sense of what it means to be Filipino, and in doing so, uncover its biases while also discovering that this “all-knowing” tech seems to be just as confused as I am.

Homebody
Ciel Creative Space - Berkeley, CA. 2022
Homebody was a 20,000-square-foot immersive installation project that invited visitors to explore the emotional landscape shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic. Spanning five rooms of floor-to-ceiling installations, the exhibition blended augmented reality, painting, and sculpture to create a multi-sensory experience centered around themes of isolation, the fracturing of community, and the shifting nature of personal identity. Designed as a healing space, Homebody became a site for reconnection, hosting performances, concerts, youth art workshops, and lectures. For many, it marked the first communal gathering after lockdown, offering both reflection and renewal. The project was honored with the LAVNCH Out of This World Experiences Award for its innovative approach to art and community engagement.

Deconstructed Devotion
New visual explorations during the pandemic. 2020
Deconstructed Devotion is a series rooted in both historical analysis and intimate personal experience. Created during the postpartum period following the birth of my first child, the work examines themes of motherhood, the female body, and feminine rage. Drawing inspiration from Baroque and Renaissance painting—especially the work of Artemisia Gentileschi—I broke down these classical forms to their essential elements: drapery, musculature, florals, and sacred composition. Through this deconstruction, I questioned the way women have been portrayed in devotional art and explored my own shifting relationship to spirituality.

Veiled Intent
Mirus Gallery - Denver, CO. 2018
Veiled Intent was a solo exhibition that marked a turning point in my exploration of material and memory. It was the first time I incorporated organza screens into my work, allowing fabric to function both as surface and symbol. A long-standing interest in drapery and the movement of cloth wove through the paintings and sculptures—each piece examining how fabric can hold the shape, weight, and energy of a person, even in their absence. Like the lingering imprint on a bed after someone has left, the fabric became a stand-in for the body. The translucent screens acted as metaphors for skin and scar tissu, expressing how the body holds onto what it has endured.
